Shoring is a term that refers to the practice of bracing the structure with the help of temporary and strong structures to prevent collapse of the materials. Different techniques used in Trench shoring

• Soil Nailing

In this technique, the soil nailing contractor uses reinforcing, strong and elongated bars to insert them into the pre-drilled holes. After that, they are sealed with binding material to hold the walls, excavations, and soil slopes.

They are generally planted in semi-downward incline without creating any tension. The soil nailing contractor normally uses the lone soil nail heads or sprayed concrete.

• Beam and plate

In this technique, beams are planted firmly on ground and they are reinforced with the steel plates in between. The soldier boarding that uses wood planks also use similar mechanism. This kind of shoring is normally used for excavation that may span longer duration of time.

• Hydraulic shoring

In this method, hydraulic pistons are popped up until they push against trench walls. Plywood or steel plates are used with pistons. This kind of shoring is one of the easiest methods amongst others.
